LA SAYUELA B&B****

From thegoodaccommodationguide.com in Ávila, Spain

On the ground floor are five large double bedrooms all with bath. All the rooms are equipped with outside ventilation, baths with windows, bed clothes, towels, hairdryer, safe-deposit box ($), irons, airconditioning, carpets, heating, etc. and daily cleaning. Three of the rooms have twin beds of 90 cm width, and two have double beds 150X200 cm, all the mattresses are anti-allergic.

La Sayuela B&B**** is a ground floor building, which has 60 centimetres thick sone walls lined with wood inside, helping it stay cool in the summer and warm in winter. There are five double bedrooms all of them with bathroom and each one looking on a different view of the mountains of Gredos or the valley of Tietar. The lounge has a timber ceiling six metres high which gives a spaciousness feel with the warmth of the fireplace and together with the dining and living areas makes it possible to create different atmospheres at any time. From the lounge there is a wrought iron staircase which leads to the games parlour. There, you'll find a billiard table, table games, as well as a large library with a wide range of books from all genres. In addition, you can enjoy the view from the bay window right across the landscape in the evening and see (with or without a telescope) the stars in all their splendour.

For those who wish to stay for lunch or dinner we offer well cooked traditional food. On Saturdays we have the popular “cocido” (stew made of meat, bacon, and chickpeas) which awakens your senses through to the morning. But no less popular are the “carillas” with tomato (a small soft bean grown in this area), tomato soup, asparagus from “La Vera”, lean with peppers, fried piglet or kid and good beef. Of course, we can't omit the vegetables and fruits of the land which you can sample any other day of the week. There is a vegetable garden and an orchard with orange, lemon, avocado, pear and other fruit trees, as well as century old olive and fig trees on our farmland.
